According to IZE on February 3, tvN is set to produce “Iron Girls” Season 2, aiming for a broadcast in the latter half of the year.
In its second season, “Iron Girls” (directed by Bang Geul-yi) will take on a new sport—an electrifying challenge in the boxing ring. Details regarding filming and broadcasting schedules are still being finalized.
“Iron Girls” Season 2 is currently in discussions to bring back the original members who contributed to the success of the first season, including Uee, Jin Seo-yeon, Seol In-ah and Park Ju-hyun. Additionally, their leader, Kim Dong-hyun, is also in final negotiations to return. Sources suggest that efforts are being made to reunite the original members and leader for the new season.

The first season of “Iron Girls” premiered on September 7 last year and concluded on November 16 last year. It followed the members as they trained for and participated in the Tongyeong World Triathlon Cup alongside their leader Kim Dong-hyun. The show made waves as the first-ever variety program to document female celebrities taking on the challenge of a triathlon.
During its broadcast, “Iron Girls” captivated viewers with the raw and emotional journey of the cast as they shed blood, sweat and tears in their rigorous triathlon training. It gained popularity as a “wellness variety show”, resonating with viewers. The eldest member Jin Seo-yeon and the ace Uee deeply moved viewers by overcoming their personal traumas, ultimately succeeding in completing the race. Even before the season ended, some fans were already hoping for a second season, which has now come to fruition.
As “Iron Girls” gears up for its return, anticipation is high for how the original members and leader Kim Dong-hyun will once again inspire viewers with their dedication to health and perseverance.
Meanwhile, regarding “Iron Girls” Season 2, a tvN representative told IZE, “It is currently in the planning stages, and details such as scheduling and cast are still under discussion.”
